Update on Covid-19 and Our Office

As the situation pertaining to the fight against Covid-19 continues to develop, we are currently rescheduling all appointments prior to April 7th.

In line with State and Federal orders, the California Dental Association is also recommending that we only treat life-threatening emergencies, and do so only if we have proper Personal Protective Equipments such as N-95 masks. These equipments at this time are of high priorities in medical facilities where they are much needed.

As difficult as the Shelter-in-Place order is for all of our lives, we believe that it is the best thing we can do to protect each other from this life-threatening crisis. Our team misses all our patients fondly, and we look forward to the day when we can see you as normal.

Until then we are available to help with your emergencies should you need us. Our phone lines continue to remain open during our normal business hours.

We wish you the best of health! Brush, floss, stay inside!

Together we will rise!

Covid-19

The California Dental Association has issued a formal statement to request that we suspend nonessential or non-urgent dental care for 14 days to help combat COVID-19. Our office will comply with the request and will reschedule all non-emergency treatments until March 30th, 2020. Our team will be in touch to help reschedule your appointments accordingly. Our phone line will stay open during normal business hours, and we will help assist dental emergencies on a per-case basis.
Thank you for your understanding. Together we will beat this Coronavirus.

We’ve gone digital!

It is an exciting time in our practice as we continue to build up our digital work flow. We now have the capability to fabricate our own models using 3D Printing technology. That means our patients can truly say good bye to all the yucky impression materials that make them gag and choke!

Using optical scanner we capture the mold of the patient’s teeth. The images get processed into three dimensional digital models. Our 3D Printer then prints out the physical models which can be used for many purposes including diagnostics, bleaching trays, night guards, retainers, etc.

If one of your fears when it comes to going to the dentist is the dreadful molds- Have no fear! Digital is here!!!

Can you floss between veneers?

Of course you can. Unfortunately… Not in this case though.

These veneers were done in a country in Asia. According to the patient, two of them fell off while the patient was still there. The veneers then were rebonded, and the patient was wondering why he couldn’t floss between them any more.

In the photos you can see the excess cement connecting all the porcelain together. I will not comment on the esthetic aspect, however… From a technical standpoint this case is a disaster waiting to happen. By being unable to floss, food and plaque will be trapped underneath and the gum inflammation will eventually lead to bone loss.

Many people travel to have dental work done. What do you do when there is a problem? Is it worth the savings and the risks ?
